Do people love you when you don’t try?
Tell that to my anxiety
Maybe he’ll back off
Realize there was no point for him to exist
Or do I need him?
Was it a gift?
Do you love me more when I lay myself down?
But will I turn into shoes for you to walk in?
And that’s all I will be
How can I stop being anxious and also be me?
Do you like me better when I’m not me?
Or will you carry my burdens too?
Of all of them, I found this to be the deepest. It is a peek into the dark abyss that is anxiety, worry and uncertainty about one's self.
